| The following recipe is one that I have made for my family every Christmas season because they request it each year. This recipe is handed down from my husband’s mother because he wanted it in our family baking memories too. |
| Ingredients |
| 1 cup butter or margarine 8 oz. cream cheese 2 cups flour 1/4 teaspoon salt Add to the creamed mixture above 2 lbs. pitted dates confectioners suger |
| Step by Step |
| 1) Blend and cream together the butter and cream cheese. 2) Add the flour and salt to the creamed mixture above 3) Chill cookie dough several hours. Preheat oven to 375 F 4) Roll to 1/8″ thickness. 5) Sprinkle with confectioners sugar. 6) Cut dough into 1″ x 3″ strips. 7) Put a date on the end of each strip and roll up.  Put the folded side down on the ungreased cookie sheet.9) Bake at 375 for 15 minutes. 10) Remove from cookie sheet and sprinkle with more confectioners sugar. 11) Serve and Enjoy! Makes 5-6 dozen cookies |
